CRIN JEWELLERY
We are happy to bring to you a selection of handcrafted jewellery from the Biobío region in Chile.
Each piece is made with care, using traditional techniques like enameled copper and crin weaving, both deeply connected to Chilean culture. By blending these heritage practices with contemporary design, the creations highlight vibrant colours, elegant details, and the unique value of handmade work. This project is a simple way to share the artistry of Biobío and craftsmanship of South America.
SILVER DROP EARRINGS WITH HAND-WOVEN DISCS
SILVER DROP EARRINGS WITH HAND-WOVEN DISCS
These elegant drop earrings feature a hand-woven disc which is hanging from a satin finished 950 silver plaque.
The discs are made of a natural fibre called “crin” with additions of “ixtla”, a mexican natural fiber and some aluminium fiber. They have been crafted using a traditional micro-basketry technique in off-white and soft colours, measuring approximately 23 mm in diameter.
This traditional Chilean weaving technique, originally made with horsehair, is recognised as a cultural heritage craft in Chile. Each pair is handmade by the talented artist Tania Vásquez in Concepción, Chile, combining modern silverwork with traditional artisan skills.
Total Earring length: approx. 43 mm, including a 3x30mm satin finished silver plaque, of 1.2 mm thick and a 23mm woven diameter disc.
They come with 925 Silver ear backs and will be presented in a card gift box. Please keep in mind that there’s a processing time of up to 3 days before items get dispatched.
Please note: as these earrings are handmade, slight variations in color and weave may occur, adding to the uniqueness of your piece.
Thank you for supporting handmade artisan jewellery!
